Compiled all the data across the 7 days into a few graphs. Note: this is all the same data, just displayed in different ways:

Below: Line graph of the cumulative dead roaches after each time point. Treatments are listed on the right in the legend. This graph isn't very easy to read and there is definitely a reason that scientists generally don't like line graphs!

By analyzing the data, we can conclude a number of things regarding which adhesive would be most appropriate to use for the catheter biofilm study in the dubia roaches. The control group had almost no deaths during the course of the time points. One did die at hour 120. Likely, when we perform the catheter biofilm study we will only incubate the roaches for 48 hours, but it is still interesting to know the effect of each treatment on the roaches over the course of a week. Treatment A resulted in the most deaths the quickest out of all the treatments. It is interesting, because that was the liquid bandage intended for human use but was the most toxic to the dubia roaches. A number of the treatments had deaths right at hour 24, perhaps due to trama of the wounding/gluing procedure. After the 24 hours those treatments generally didn't have very many deaths until towards the end of the study. I would determine based on the results that the most appropriate adhesive to use in this study would either be Treatment C, H, I, or K. These treatments resulted in the fewest deaths early on in the study and were the easiest to work with. Likely, we will use Treatment C in the future, the Loctite brand adhesive. This was a necessary study to determine which adhesive would be most appropriate for the future study. Pilot studies found that different brands of adhesive were actually toxic enough to prematurely kill the dubia roaches, which was an unintended effect. Now we can control for that variable.

Note: it is more than frustrating when trying to transfer a graph or table from excel onto this blog site!
