Wax Worm/P. larvae LD50

From 3-7-15.

I set up another wax worm ingestion LD50 experiment again since I still had additional early instar worms. Using a newly created P. larvae 9545 spore stock that was only at a concentration of 1x10^5 CFU/mL I added 100 uL of several dilution in Bee Artificial Diet (BAD).

P. larvae spore dilutions were made in a five fold serial dilution (1:5, 1:25, and 1:125). There were 30 wax worm replicates for each dilution split into three different containers with 10 wax worms in each.


The wax worms in the containers were stored in the walk in 30C incubator inside of a Tupperware container. I will monitor the survival of these wax worms over the course of seven days.
